Editing Procedures

There is an hourly rate for editorial services. We highly recommend that all authors or self-publishers sit face-to-face with our editor to make appropriate changes as a team. In that way, you are available to respond immediately to all the editor’s questions and suggestions. Dr. Weisser does not read manuscripts in advance, but prefers to share his reactions with you as they occur.

How many hours would be involved in your case is impossible to say without first working together with you for at least an hour or two. The average is somewhere between 3 and 10 double-spaced pages an hour for one pass. Ideally, there should be at least two passes, the first one focusing on details, and the second one (usually 10 times faster) focusing on elegance and flow. Depending on your perfectionism and your budget, there may be additional passes.

While editing and proofreading are done very carefully at View House Publishing, you are ultimately responsible for certifying the accuracy of the final proof.
